Being a part of Elite has meant so much to me throughout the years. What started as a place where I came to dance quickly became a second home filled with love, support, and unforgettable memories. This studio has helped me grow not only as a dancer but also as a person. Every class, rehearsal, and performance has taught me the value of hard work, confidence, and dedication.
One of the most special parts of my experience has been the incredible people I have met along the way. My teammates have become like family, always encouraging me, cheering me on, and making every moment meaningful. The friendships I have built here are ones that I will always treasure. I am also incredibly grateful for the teachers who have guided me with patience, kindness, and constant support. Their belief in me has inspired me to push myself and become the best dancer and person I can be.
As I look back on my senior year, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for everything this studio has given me. It has been a place where I felt safe, challenged, and deeply loved. The lessons I have learned here will stay with me far beyond the dance floor. While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, I know that the memories, friendships, and love I have found at this studio will always hold a special place in my heart.
MARA STEIN
EDC Family,
I don’t even know where to start. Dance has always been such a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I started dancing at Elite at the age of three, I could have never guessed that it would become my second home all these years later.
Being a part of EDC has shaped me into the person I am today. Over the years, I not only grew as a dancer, but as a person. I am so grateful for every lesson, every practice, and every moment spent in the studio. The countless memories I have made here, from extended practices to performing on stage, are ones that I will forever cherish.
Although I am no longer dancing due to injuries, Elite never stopped being an important part of my life. Continuing to come back each week to help assist classes has shown me a completely new side to dance, and it has allowed me to stay connected to the place that means so much to me.
To my teachers, Mrs. Stephanie, Mrs. Jaime, and Mrs. Kathryn, thank you for always pushing me to be my best and believing in me when I couldn’t. Your guidance, patience, and passion have meant more to me than I can put into words. Thank you to my teammates for being my biggest cheerleaders, you've made all the moments so special. To my acro students, thank you for bringing so much joy into the studio. It has been such a privilege to assist and watch you grow every week. And to my parents, thank you for your endless love and support, it has meant the world to me.
This upcoming year, I will be attending Michigan State University. As I continue to grow and move on, EDC will forever hold a special place in my heart and I will always remember the impact this studio and everyone in it has had on my life. Thank you for making these last fifteen years unforgettable.
With love,
Mara Stein
ZOE GARRETT
Hi! My name is Zoe Garrett, and I am a senior at Okemos High School. I have been dancing at Elite for 15 years and competing for 10 years. When my parents started my sister in dance, I would stand outside the door and copy everything they did in class. That’s the moment my parents knew to put me in dance the next year. From then on, dance has been such a big part of my life. Through the good times and bad times, I always had dance. I will forever be grateful to have been a part of this studio.
A big thank you to my parents for all that you guys have done to be able to let me continue dancing. You guys truly are the best parents I could ever ask for. Thank you, Mrs. Stephanie, for always pushing me to my full potential and for being one of my biggest cheerleaders while I am on stage. Thank you, Mrs. Jaime, for being such a bright light in my life and for all the lessons you have taught me. Thank you, Mrs. Kathryn, for giving me the best advice and for always helping me in any situation. Also, a big thank you to all the other teachers I have had along the way for helping push me to be the dancer I am today. Thank you to all my teammates for everything and for all the lifelong friendships we have created. I will forever cherish all the memories we have made together. I would also like to give a big shout-out to all my Level 3 girls and Acro girls. It has been such a privilege to help you all grow as dancers and spend time with you all each week.
Next year, I will be attending Michigan State University to major in Packaging and minor in Dance. Thank you again to everyone who has been a part of my dance career. I will miss each and every one of you next year. Again, a big thank you to my parents and sister for being my biggest supporters and allowing me to do what I love.
